Shopto.net Launches Revised Membership Scheme

Shopto.net have relaunched their membership scheme, all details of which can be found below. Feel free to use the comment box at the bottom of the page to discuss if you think you will benefit from these revisions.

As a way to thank our loyal ShopTo customers we are proud to offer a unique membership scheme! This provides every user with a range of benefits and savings against the majority of items listed on our website. Customers will automatically start at Bronze and work their way up through to Silver and Gold based on the amount of money spent over a 365 day period.

Membership Levels
Gold: Customers who spend a minimum of £700 or more on products in 365 days.
Silver: Customers who spend a minimum of £300 and less than £700 on products in 365 days.
Bronze: Customers who spend less than £300 on products in 365 days.
Trader: Customers who purchase 3 or more units of the same product.

Membership level will not effect when your pre-orders are processed. All pre-orders will continue to be processed in the order that they were placed and our Release Date or Compensate scheme applies equally to all levels.

GOLD MEMBERSHIP
Gold customers receive the very best discounts and benefits available. For any customer who spends over the value of £700 within a 365 day period will receive Gold Membership status. Points will no longer be issued on purchase of an item. Gold members instead receive an exclusive discount of 5% off the site price immediately at checkout. These discounts are not available to Silver or Bronze members.

In order to maintain your Gold Membership you will need to spend a minimum of £700 over a 365 day (1 year) period or your account will revert back to Silver / Bronze depending on spend. You can keep track of your purchase levels & total spend in your ShopTo account

Gold Membership Benefits:
Lost Parcel Priority: In the unfortunate event your item does not arrive we are able to replace / credit / refund after only 7 working days instead of the standard 15 days.
Exclusive Offers: Exclusive offers on titles and DLC content
Early Access: Early Access to sales & promotions: Get the heads up & take advantage before anyone else on future sales or special promotions we will be running.
Free Phone Customer Support: Access to an alternative free-phone number that will get you straight through to a senior member of our Customer Service team.
Returns: If you wish to return an unwanted item we will credit your ShopTo account up to £2.99 for the return postage cost or if its hardware we will collect the item free of charge.
Delivery Emergencies: In the event of a Royal Mail strike we will upgrade delivery of your purchase to a courier company free of charge to ensure you receive your item without delay.

SILVER MEMBERSHIP
Silver customers will receive great benefits & qualify for discounts at checkout. For any customer who spends a minimum of £300 and less than £700 over a 365 day period will receive Silver Membership status. Points will no longer be issued on purchase of an item. Silver members instead receive an exclusive discount of 3% off the site price immediately at checkout. These discounts are not available to Bronze members.

BRONZE MEMBERSHIP
When making a purchase of an eligible item on your ShopTo account you instantly receive 10 points for every £1 spent. The value of 100 points will equate to 25p for use at checkout prior to your next purchase.

You can view your points balance at any time when logged into your ShopTo account. If you click your name at the top right of the website, your available points balance will be displayed right away. You can keep track of your purchase levels & total spend in your ShopTo account.

TRADER
There is also an additional membership level of Trader. This level is automatically applied to any account that purchases 3 or more of the same item.
Terms and Conditions
The ShopTo membership scheme is free. Users are enrolled automatically upon registration. Bronze customer earn 10 points for every £1 spent on www.shopto.net. Points are credited instantly after purchase and can be redeemed in exchange for money off any future purchase during check-out.
Points cannot be redeemed once check-out has been completed.
All Bronze points must be redeemed within 2 months of upgrading to Silver membership (minimum spend of £300 in a 365 day period). If these are not used within 2 months, these will be lost.
For pre-orders bronze member points will be credited upon dispatch of your item. Where points earned do not equal a round number, they will be rounded up. You can view your points balance and a record of points spent and earned at any time in your ShopTo.Net account. Points can only be used for discount on the website and cannot be paid out in cash redemption value. Points cannot be transferred between accounts.
If a Lost Parcel Claim Form is submitted for a refund or an item returned for a refund any points earned will be reversed. If you have already spent these points we will deduct them from the next points you earn.
The value of any returned items which are refunded will be deducted from your total spend.
Customer membership levels are at the discretion of ShopTo and purchase quantities / spend required for Gold and Silver membership are subject to change at any time. Trader status is at our discretion and our decision on this is final. ShopTo reserves the right to remove points from customer accounts in the event of abuse being identified or suspected.
Points earned are valid for 12 months from the day on which they are credited to your ShopTo account. Any points not used after 12 months from issue will be removed from your points balance.
If the minimum spend is not met to maintain Silver / Gold membership over a 365 day period, membership will be downgraded accordingly.
Carriage costs do not count towards your minimum spend within a 365 day period for Bronze / Silver / Gold membership
Bronze points cannot be earned on carriage costs.
A minimum order total of £3.00 is required in your basket to redeem membership points.
The ShopTo membership scheme is subject to change or withdrawal without notice.
The Gold and Silver prices are applied to the list price of a product. If that product is already discounted, you won’t receive any additional discount.
Any pre-orders you already have stored prior to membership upgrade will remain at the same price initially. Once you have logged in, these will then be automatically updated to your new membership discount band within 7 days.

Products not eligible for discount / included within our membership scheme:
Hardware – e.g. PS4 / XBOX ONE consoles
Digital downloads – e.g. Music, Instant XBL / PSN cards
Already discounted items – e.g. Sale items

  1. I’ve had Gold membership for several years but going by the new criteria I’m expecting to go down to Silver or possibly even Bronze by year end. Now, I will admit I spend way too much on gaming so previously that £700 in a year wouldn’t be an issue but in the last year or so Shopto have become less competitive with other retailers. The 5% discount helps and the quick delivery service is excellent but their new release prices seem to have steadily increased. Not by much perhaps, but enough to lose sales from me to 365games and GameCollection this year already. I admit I haven’t bought many games this year and this is due mainly to the lack of releases on PS4 and me buying my kids Skylanders figures which Shopto no longer seem to be interested in selling. Then again, last year they had Disney Infinity figures but at £14.85 while my local Toys R Us were £13.99 and Tesco £12.99. I liked the old Shopto. Cheap prices, excellent service and next day delivery. Now they only seem to maintain one out of the three, delivery. I haven’t had many issues and all have been resolved quickly and efficiently but I have read many times of others poor experiences and I guess that’s the problem when retailers become too big and lose that dedication to the consumer in pursuit of higher profits. I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt and see how the year develops with them

  2. I’m not too sure about the 5% discount thing. Considering i will have to spend £700 before getting to that discount. A 5% discount on a £50 game is £2.50. Barely worth it.

    All the extra “benefits” shouldn’t really be called so because i would expect a company to offer half of those anyway. Especially the returns and lost item nonesense. It is a pretty cool idea to upgrade postage for free should there be a strike, but if they did that for everyone they would certainly get more custom. I’m not going to spend £700 just for the privilege of a potential upgrade should there be a strike. And the lowest of the low? Access to a free phone number if you spend £700 or more. That’s a bloody joke. Never before have i heard of a company being incredibly stupid with phone numbers. The worst company was Game and they now have a contact number from what i have been told. Shopto are just cementing themselves in bottom of my retailers list at the moment.
